In a move that expands an existing partnership between the two companies, the joint development is being built to sit on top of Teradata’s highly scalable enterprise Warehouse database system.
Hyperion’s Essbase platform will be integrated with Teradata’s Value Analyzer to drive profitability model analysis and Hyperion Intelligence will provide supporting financial reporting and dashboarding functions.
Both Hyperion and Teradata will engage in joint marketing of the solution, initially to the communications, retail and banking industries.
Santa Clara, California-based Hyperion has been a Teradata partner since 2001. The latest joint venture means that integration between the two companies’ platform will remain tight.
In the past they have collaborated on SQL optimization, hybrid analysis on the Teradata platform using Essbase Integration Services and bi-directional data movement between the Teradata warehouse environment and Hyperion’s Business Intelligence platform.
