The deal allows SPSS to continue to integrate Hyperion’s Essbase (a multidimensional server) and Analyzer (a Web-based analysis and reporting tool) products on IBM’s eServer iSeries platform as part of its ShowCase suite offering.
ShowCase is a suite of BI tools specifically targeted at iSeries. Both Hyperion and SPPS have partnered on ShowCase since 1996.
SPSS plans to release a more scalable version of ShowCase in March 2005 which will be based on Hyperion’s latest Essbase 7X server platform.
