HUTCHISON WHAMPOA INTO BRITISH MARKET FOR CELLULAR PHONES

As it promised at the Communications ’91 show, Hutchison Whampoa Ltd’s Hutchison Telecommunications Ltd is beginning its onslaught on the British high street, putting cellular phones into Halfords shops; Halfords supplies car parts so is a logical place to stock mobile car phones, although portable mobile phones will also be on sale: the phones are made by Motorola Inc, and the first shop to be stocked is the one in Ipswich, Suffolk.
