Hutchinson 3G selects security provider

Hutchinson Whampoa has selected SchlumbergerSema to provide a 3G security platform for its services. The platform will initially be deployed in the UK before being rolled out to Hutchinson's 3G interests in other countries.

SchlumbergerSema will deliver its Entrust software-based security solutions. The company, a division of Schlumberger, will also provide consulting, system integration and project management services during implementation.

The platform will give Hutchinson 3G customers secure access to a range of services, such as entertainment, messaging and news.
