HUSKY COMPUTERS WINS CONTRACT FROM THE LONDON METROPOLITAN POLICE

Husky Computers Ltd of Coventry UK, the rugged handheld computer making subsidiary of Peek Holdings Plc, has won a contract worth an undisclosed sum to supply the London Metropolitan Police with 100 Husky Hunter handhelds for a new communications system designed to back-up the Met’s wheel clamping and vehicle removal scheme: operations support will be given by a communications centre using a cellular radio-based large scale data network and a dedicated Metier Artemis 8000 computer system installed and operated by two of Lockheed Corp’s subsidiaries – the London office of Datacom Inc of Teaneck, New Jersey and Hayes, Middlesex, UK-based Metier Management Systems Ltd.
