Hummingbird Communications Ltd yesterday demo-ed the beta of v4.0 of its flagship extract-transform-load tool Genio, which includes features such as a souped-up GUI and bulk loading functions for popular databases. The product, to be released in a month, will aim to speed up the process of loading information by including bulk loaders for Oracle and Teradata warehouses. The enhanced GUI allows the automatic creation of flowcharts representing the sequences of dependencies in a transformation procedure. This is designed to speed up the development process. Spokespeople for the company say it can reduce training needed on the system to less than a day.
