Chinese electronics manufacturer Huawei has unveiled a hybrid smart band, the TalkBand B1, at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Spain.
TalkBand B1 is said to be compatible with devices running on Google’s Android operating systems’ versions 2.3 and above along with Apple devices running iOS versions 5.0 and above.
Slated to be available in range of colours, the new wearable device features a 1.4-inch flexible OLED display, wireless calling option and an connected Bluetooth 4.1 earpiece.
The new hybrid smart band comes with NFC support and is claimed to be capable of recording the number of steps walked by a user, distance travelled, and calories burnt along with user’s sleeping pattern in order to set alarms accordingly.
The 26 gram TalkBand B1 runs on a 90mAh battery and is claimed to run for six days on a single charge following a two hour charge.
Huawei will initially launch the device in China from March 2014 and in Japan, Middle East, Russia and Western Europe markets from second quarter of the year for €99.
