Huawei smartwatch will ship in June

20 country launch planned sporty and business models.

Chinese telecom giant Huawei has entered into the wearable tech race with the introduction of its round- faced smartwatch dubbed ‘Huawei Watch’.

Huawei Watch will be available in classic, business and sporty variants and the shape reportedly draws upon the success of Motorola’s round- faced smartwatch.

The watch has a 286 PPI 1.4-inch AMOLED display with 42mm round face with 18mm lug width will be which is reportedly suitable for users with small wrist.

The body of the watch is made up of stainless steel and will be available in gold, silver and black colour with an option of leather and metal straps.

It features 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage, has built-in heart rate monitor, along with standard loadout of motion sensors for health and activity tracking, and can be paired with Android-based devices using Bluetooth LE.

Huawei Consumer BG CEO Richard Yu said, "For consumers, having access and storage of personal data and records will make wearable devices one of the most important industry developments in the advent of Big Data and Cloud technologies.

"Today’s wearable device announcement showcases Huawei’s commitment to inspiring creativity and creating products that will enhance the consumer’s ecosystem.

Users will also be able view notifications of text-message, incoming phone alerts, emails, and calendar reminders on the smartwatch.

According to CCS Insight estimate, the shipment of wearable devices are expected to grow 158% in 2015 to 75 million units, and almost 350 million wearable devices are expected to be worn by users by 2018.

LG also unveiled its smartwatch with a circular design, with a high end version featuring 4G chip and a new operating system.
