Web administrators can now track users’ movements around their sites and distinguish between new and returning visitors according to San Diego, California-based Htmlscript Corp. It¦s offering a Caller ID feature for its one-year-old htmlscript system. When users connect to pages with the htmlscript server extension they are branded with an identifier that allows Web administrators to follow them through the site. Other features include the ability to remember returning users’ configuration preferences and to save items users’ put in their shopping cart even if they leave the site. The firm is offering the 4GL language htmlscript system – which consists of an applications suite and development and administrative tools – starting at $500 per server. The software runs on seven flavors of Unix including Solaris, SCO and Linux.
