The Touch Cruise is the third phone launched in the HTC Touch product family having introduced the original in June 2007 and the HTC Touch Dual in October 2007. The Touch Dual has features such as HSDPA connectivity and a sliding keypad.
Samsung, a competitor for HTC, has also launched a touch smartphone this month. Its handset comes with a 2.8 inch LCD touch screen, which doubles as a keypad.
According to HTC, the Touch Cruise has features such as 3G high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) wireless connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It includes a 2.8 inch screen and runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional software. It also offers the ability to view photos and photo slideshows using on-screen controls and functionalities such as zoom and rotate images.
The Touch Cruise has a three megapixel auto focus camera, FM radio and microSD memory card slot to add to the given 128MB RAM. It includes HTC’s TouchFLO technology, which improves finger touch scrolling and browsing of web pages, documents, messages and contact lists.
The Touch Cruise uses the mapping and navigation solutions from navigation systems manufacturer TomTom. This navigation software offers both city maps and full maps of Western Europe.
