Hewlett-Packard Co says new programmable wizards it will offer for use with its HP ORB Plus 2.0 object request broker will enable Visual C++ developers to create Corba 2.0 objects that can be deployed on Windows NT and HP-UX. Currently ORB Plus supports only one-way mapping from Object Linking & Embedding to Corba, enabling Visual Basic and Visual C++ programmers to access Corba components using native Object Linking interfaces. Later this year, Hewlett will add two-way Object Linking & Embedding interoperability between OLE/COM and Corba to HP ORB Plus 2.0. The new version is due by the year-end at from $3,000.
