Hewlett-Packard Co says it will support the new graphics architecture being created by Microsoft Corp and Silicon Graphics Inc on HP-UX (CI No 3,314). It says it’s not yet clear what contribution it will be making to the project and claims it decided to sit out a more public involvement in the strategy, called Fahrenheit, despite talks between the three. It doesn’t know whether Fahrenheit will end up being the mainstay of its future graphics offerings.
