HP has expanded its portfolio of mobile products with the launch of new TouchSmart notebook and netbooks, including the company’s first touch-enabled Mini.
The new HP TouchSmart tm2 is a convertible, touch-enabled notebook PC, which includes features such as multitouch gestures, finger taps and swipes across the screen, allowing users to navigate through applications. It comes with Intel Core 2 Duo processors and optional ATI Mobility Radeon discrete graphics upgrades. It provides up to nine hours of battery life and includes thermal design that helps to keep the PC cool.
According to HP, the Mini 5102, the company’s first touch-enabled netbook comes in a lightweight anodised-aluminum display enclosure with a choice of black, red or blue brushed finishes; multitouch gestures, finger taps and swipes across the screen. It features Intel Atom N450 processor, multiple connectivity options including mobile broadband and a 10.1-inch diagonal LED display available in either WSVGA or HD resolutions and delivers up to 10hrs of battery runtime with six-cell battery.
The HP Mini 210 and 2102 comes with nine hours of battery life and optional 3G broadband connectivity and GPS in a slim design with multiple color options. Mini 210 is available in black crystal, silver crystal, pacific blue or sonoma red HP imprint finishes, while the Mini 2102 comes in black design. Both have a built-in WLAN, webcam and microphone.
Powered by an Intel Atom processor N450 with 1.66GHz, the Mini 210 and Mini 2102 supports up to 1GB of memory and up to 320GB hard drive, and comes with built-in VGA port and five-in-one digital media slot.
The HP TouchSmart tm2 is expected to be available in the US from January 17, 2010, in all colours with a starting price of $949, where as Mini 5102 price starts from $399 and Mini 210 and 2102 prices starts from $299 and $329, respectively.
