Hewlett-Packard Co is taking Unix underground in a big way in Hong Kong, where the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway Corporation has decided to major on Hewlett kit for its Station Automation Project, Newsbytes reports: Hewlett-Packard Hong Kong Ltd will supply 42 HP 9000 Model E25 servers, two HP 9000 Model G50 servers and two HP 9000 Model 715 workstations to run HP OpenView system and network management software for the 38 stations, three depots and headquarters, where existing host-based applications running on Digital Equipment Corp VAX computers will be modified so they can be integrated with new HP-UX client-server applications.
