HP secures outsourcing deal with Singapore Exchange

Singapore Exchange (SGX) has agreed to outsource the management of its data center and IT infrastructure to Hewlett Packard in a deal reported to be worth around $56 million.

By CBR Staff Writer

Under the five-year contract, SGX expects to make a 20% saving on the projected cost of overhauling its own data center and IT infrastructure.

Some of SGX’s staff will be moved to Hewlett Packard and, with the use of more modern facilities for its data centers, the deal promises to improve costs and efficiency of services.

The news is reflective of the increasing trend for companies to procure their services from specialists that can deliver better management of costs and resources.
