HP MAKES HP-UX 11.0 MORE ATTRACTIVE TO SOME USERS

By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard Co has added support for its 32-way V-Class 2500 server to HP-UX 11.0 as an extension pack. In addition to 32 CPUs and 32Gb memory the extension pack is said to offer full support for the A-Class server, C360 workstation and 1010D Fibre Channel system and new system resource management functions. In a bid to get its installed base up to the latest cut of HP-UX, the company is offering HP-UX 11 free of charge on the end-of-life D, K, and T class servers; it’s also bundled with the V2500. No word on what the extension pack costs.
