Palo Alto, California-based HP’s tc2120 is a uni-processor tower server aimed at small-to-medium businesses and value-added resellers, and is based on Serverworks Inc’s Grand Champion-SL chipset.

The tc2120 is available in four base configurations, starting with the 1.8 GHz Intel Celeron processor-packed basic package, which also comes with a 40GB Ultra/ATA hard drive and 128MB of SDRAM DIMM memory for $549. Next up is a 2.53 GHz Intel Pentium 4-based version with a 40GB ATA hard drive and 256MB DRAM DIMM memory, which is $799.

For $949 the tc2120 comes with a 2.53 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor with 256MB DRAM DIMM memory and a 36.4GB wide SCSI hard drive, while at the top of the range $1,749 gets you a 2.53 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor with 256MB DRAM DIMM memory and a 36.4GB wide SCSI hard drive, as well as Microsoft Corp’s Windows 2000 server with five user licenses.

The tc2120 is also suitable for use with Microsoft’s BackOffice Small Business Server 2000 and Windows 2003 as well as Red Hat Inc’s Enterprise Linux AS, SuSE Linux AG’s version of Linux and Novell Inc’s NetWare.
