Hewlett-Packard has announced a multi-vendor alliance to offer enterprises a choice of interoperable applications that run on the HP ProCurve Switch 5400zl and 8200zl series.
As part of the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem, HP ProCurve ONE, alliance, Riverbed will enable its optimization system to run on the HP ProCurve ONE Services zl module. It said the integration will provide customers with a next-generation data center application that can serve distributed employees with centralized IT. The joint application is expected to be available in the second half of 2009.
Other companies in the alliance include Microsoft, which will provide network access protection, Avaya which will offer IP telephony and unified communications, and McAfee which will provide security and F5 Networks for load balancing.
