HP INTRODUCES WEB-ENABLED MANAGEMENT CAPABILITIES

By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard Co has introduced web-enabled management capabilities to its Internet Advisor, data-communications test tool. The addition means that many of the analyser’s functions can be accessed remotely via any Java-enabled web browser. The Internet Advisor helps users test, trouble-shoot, maintain and manage local area, wide area and high-speed networks, including switched, full-duplex Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM and FDDI . It constantly monitors traffic on data-communication networks and distils meaningful diagnostic information to help users anticipate and prevent problems that can bring the network down. The web-enabled access for the Internet Advisor, priced at $900, is expected to be available in the third quarter of 1997.
