HP CREATES DEDICATED SOFTWARE SALES UNIT

By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard Co hopes to double its revenue from sales of software to $2bn within two years by pulling its fragmented software sales force into a dedicated 200-person worldwide unit by year-end. The group will sell HP electronic business and OpenView IT systems and network management software as well as third party products. Worldwide sales manager Arun Oberoi is to run the group reporting to Lane Nonnenburg VP sales and marketing in Ann Livermore’s software and services group. It will put products through direct and indirect channels and integrate HP software with third party hardware and software.
