Palo Alto, California-based HP’s new xw4200, xw6200 and xw8200 models are designed for computer-aided design and engineering, and digital content creation markets, as well as financial services and geographic information systems.

The dual-processor HP Workstation xw6200 and xw8200 models both use the Intel E7525 chipset and Intel Xeon processors offering Intel’s EM64T functionality for the support of both 32-bit and 64-bit applications.

Meanwhile, the entry-level HP Workstation xw4200 is based on Intel’s 925X Express chipset and the Pentium 4 processor and will offer EM64T support when it is made available by Intel. All three workstations are available with either Microsoft Corp’s Windows XP Professional or Red Hat Inc’s Enterprise Linux WS 3.0.
