By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard Co has announced that its revenue in Russia and the former Soviet Union in its 1996 fiscal year was $210m – which is a growth of 5% on fiscal year 1995. This figure includes all of Hewlett-Packard’s business units operating in the former Soviet Union including computer products sales, service and maintenance revenues and sales of tests and measurements equipment. Over 90% of this figure was computer-related revenues. Owen Kemp, head of Hewlett-Packard’s Enterprise Business Organization in Russia, says sales of his business unit increased 60% in 1996 with HP 9000/800 servers and HP 9000/700 workstations accounting for the majority of sales. Hewlett-Packard’s best performing systems partner in 1996 was CMA/2B.
