HP Denmark and shipping company Maersk Line have signed a five-year infrastructure services agreement that will support latter’s global growth strategy.
Under the agreement, HP makes Maersk Line an Instant-On Enterprise by using HP’s cloud-enabled data centres and HP Workplace Services to optimise its technology infrastructuren.
HP will create a private cloud computing environment for distributed and local applications using HP Cloud Computing offerings and the secure environment creates a flexible, agile technology infrastructure that allows Maersk Line to stay ahead of changing business needs.
In addition, HP will take over Maersk Line’s Service Desk function and deliver Workplace Services to maintain the company’s computing devices and HP will support, monitor Maersk Line using HP’s delivery model from global locations that use standardised processes for cost-effective support.
Maersk Line chief information officer Adam Gade said Maersk Line operates in a competitive global industry that demands innovation to create the agile technology infrastructure we need to be a leader among Maersk Line’s peers.

HP Europe, Middle East and Africa Enterprise Services senior vice-president and general manager Mike Nefkens said Maersk Line is driving significant change in its markets and needs a reliable technology foundation to support these efforts.
"To help achieve the company’s global strategy, HP will apply its cloud computing expertise and experience in managing complex technology environments enabling internal IT leaders to expand support," said Nefkens.
