HP has expanded its its mission-critical Converged Infrastructure portfolio with new HP Integrity systems, HP-UX software and services which claimed to enhance performance, resiliency and deliver investment protection for future critical workloads.
Based on HP enhancements and the Intel Itanium processor 9500 series, the new applications claimed to improve speed of the transactions by three times than previous generations, while using 21% less energy and offer 33% savings in total cost of ownership (TCO).
The new applications include: an updated HP Superdome 2, three new HP Integrity server blades, an HP Integrity server and HP-UX advancements.
HP Superdome 2 comes with new blades and advancements to HP’s server that provide high availability for mission-critical workloads. It will double the number of cores and includes built-in intelligence that enables detection, analysis and repair of errors, the company said.
New HP Integrity server blades for the HP BladeSystem c-Class enclosure will include electrically isolated hard-partitions that isolate workloads without compromising data integrity, the comany said.
The three new server blades will utilise up to 21% less energy with new low-voltage, dual in-line memory modules (DIMMS) and also improve efficiency with the new 9500 series processors.
In addition, the new server blades include the HP Integrity BL860c i4, which scales up to two sockets, the HP Integrity BL870c i4, with up to four socket configurations, and the HP Integrity BL890c i4, with up to eight sockets.

The new HP Integrity server is optimised for branch offices or expanding businesses that is ENERGY STAR certified for reduced energy use.
HP-UX advancements deliver enhanced security with a new common log file that delivers up to 10 times faster threat detection than previous generations and also simplifies the management with HP Capacity Advisor’s new analysis tool that identifies idle and under- or over-utilised servers to increase server efficiency.
The new enhancements double the size of HP-UX workloads supported within the same data centre footprint with up to 256 cores per server.
HP has also introduced new advisory workshop services, financing programmes and cost assessment tools to assist clients in optimising their mission-critical environment.
