HP has introduced new suite of wireless accessories that are equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity and Link-5 technology.

The new HP Wi-Fi Mobile Mouse can connect without a USB dongle via a PC’s built-in Wi-Fi receiver. It allows users to instantly reconnect during each use and operates without interference from other wireless devices.

The Wi-Fi mobile mouse has up to nine months of battery life, five customisable buttons to create shortcuts, and full functionality up to 30 feet from the PC, said the company.

HP has also introduced new PC accessories with its Link-5 technology that allows users to connect up to five HP-compatible PC accessories with one receiver, freeing up valuable USB ports.

Through the Link-5 technology, users can press the ‘Connect’ button on a Link-5 device to pair it with their PC. The wireless receiver then ‘remembers’ all paired devices, making Link-5 accessories ideal for those using a PC in multiple settings such as the home, office or other mobile locations, the company said.

The Link-5 also delivers connectivity using 2.4GHz wireless technology and has an intelligent sleep mode to ensure the longest possible battery life.

The new Link-5 accessories lineup includes: wireless mini keyboard; ultrathin wireless keyboard; wireless elite v2 keyboard; wireless optical comfort mouse; wireless laser comfort mouse; and wireless mobile mouse.

HP personal systems group accessories director Scott Pappan said the company offers customers a wide variety of accessories that are simple to use with connectivity options to meet their unique needs.

"For consumers who desire PCs that are light and small but offer fewer USB ports, or for those who use their PCs in multiple settings, options like Wi-Fi and Link-5 allow users to keep USB ports free for other devices," Pappan said.
