HP has launched its first public cloud management console using OpenStack Horizon dashboard that claimed to deliver enterprise-grade offerings, facilitating ease of adoption, management and scalability of OpenStack based solutions for hybrid cloud.

The new console provides consumers with enhanced ease and security via identity management capabilities, networking topology maps, and supports new HP Cloud Relational Database service.

HP Cloud senior vice president and general manager Saar Gillai said that with proprietary offerings, cloud users are trapped in single-vendor solutions, hindering industry collaboration and, therefore, innovation.

"HP’s partnership with the OpenStack Foundation enables us to be at the forefront of cloud innovation, but allows us to enhance our offerings to provide our customers with open, enterprise-grade cloud solutions and services to thrive in today’s hybrid world," Gillai said.

The technology firm is also using Horizon with Cloud OS, the technology foundation for the HP hybrid cloud architecture.

HP’s Cloud OS allows adding enterprise-grade features, such as role-based access and a common user interface in a bid to improve the maturity of the platform for all consumers.

New features are also being added to the Cloud OS including a new distribution network (CODN), simplified infrastructure provisioning and improved multiregion support, which would facilitate IT administrators in using it.
