HP bags application services contract from Meridian

To provide service desk support and drive cost savings across Meridian's business systems

By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard New Zealand has received a new application services contract from Meridian Energy, a state-owned enterprise in the New Zealand.

Under the terms of agreement, HP will develop and manage Meridian’s core applications that support retail, wholesale and business systems.

HP said that the new environment will help Meridian improve front-line customer services, including service desk support, and also drive cost savings across its business systems.

The company will deliver application services to Meridian from its Best Shore delivery centre in Christchurch, New Zealand, which provides services using standardised tools, and processes to help reduce costs for clients.

HP Enterprise Services New Zealand country manager Gavin Greaves said, the company’s efficient applications services and cost-effective support will enable Meridian to adapt its business applications to changing needs and innovate for future growth.
