Walt Disney is using wearable technology called MagicBand to enhance visitor experience at its parks and resorts.

MagicBand is a waterproof wrist band which uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology that can be tapped into ports at the Walt Disney World Resorts.

It allows visitors to make purchases, fast-track services, check into parks and hotel rooms and link Disney photographs to an online account.

The Walt Disney Company digital executive Philip Barnes said that the company is in the path of innovation and it does not want to be left behind.

The Magic band also allows users to share personal data like name, birthday and more sensitive data such as payment card information to let users experience the Disney magic without having to carry their wallet around.

According to Barnes the data provided by the visitors helps the company to personalise its service, reported Computer Weekly.

The RFID technology used by Disney is also available in card format but it is limited to short range benefits.
