HOSKYNS TO TAKE OVER SMITHS INDUSTRIES’ IN-HOUSE COMPUTER OPERATIONS

London-based systems specialist Hoskyns Plc has won a UKP1m contract to take over Smiths Industries Plc’s in-house computer operations and run them under a facilities management contract: Smiths has transferred two ICL ME29s and five operations staff to Hoskyns which will install a third ME29 and take charge of support under terms of the deal which is expected to last at least three years; Hoskyns already runs Smiths’ Aerospace and Defence Product Division under similar facilities management pacts.
