In these straitened times London-based Hoskyns Group Plc is looking at what is and what isn’t core business and is consequently selling its voice networking division to TSB International Inc – the Canadian data and telecommunications company, for an undisclosed sum. Following substantial UK sales, according to John Birkle, head of the division, TSB is looking to set up a UK subsidiary and will be using the division and its staff of 20 as a base. Birkle estimates that the subsidiary will turn over around UKP6m per year providing a range of voice services, mostly for national European PTTs, such as British Telecom. Services range from network monitoring to voice integrated computer applications. The sale is still at heads of agreement stage and the company does not yet have a name as it cannot trade under the TSB name in the UK.
