Hoskyns Group Plc has released the first version of Prowess, its management automation tool which integrates four personal computer-based software engineering tools: the key elements are Prism, Project Management Workbench, DesignAid, and LifeCycle Manager; the first is Hoskyns’ range of structured methodologies, and the second is a suite of project management software; DesignAid is a multi-user analyst workbench, and LifeCycle Manager is a system for automating control over the several phases of systems development; Hoskyns has loaded four of the eight Prism methodologies – business study, small projects development methodology, and enhancement and maintenance – onto LifeCycle Manager, and says that others will be loaded in later versions; Prowess runs on IBM and compatible personal computer networks, and the company estimates that an average network will cost around UKP50,000, although that price varies according to the number of modules and workstations employed.
