Datasolve Ltd, the Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex information systems arm of Thorn EMI Plc, is to sell its Education division, which specialises in technical training for IBM mainframes and personal computers to Hoskyns Group Plc. The deal will leave Datasolve to concentrate on other areas of its business, particularly Datacentre Management, while allowing Hoskyns to extend its interest in the education sector, which already includes Open Systems training, IBM mid-range and digital technologies, and management skills development. Datasolve says the purchase will make for better job prospects for the division’s 20 staff, and will ensure that service quality is maintained. The sum paid for the business by Hoskyns is undisclosed.
