HONG KONG – SOUTH KOREA CABLE LINK GOES INTO SERVICE

The 2,840 mile cable linking Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea, in which Cable & Wireless Plc’s Hong Kong Telecom International Ltd is an investor with Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co and Korea Telecommunication Authority and 26 other carriers, went into service yesterday: the fibre optic link cost $175m to lay.
