HONEYWELL WITHDRAWS TRADE BAN REQUEST

By CBR Staff Writer

Faced with a 12-month investigation, Honeywell Inc has withdrawn its request that the US International Trade Commission ban imports of Minolta Camera Co cameras that use the autofocus chip technology that Honeywell claims to have invented: the company has a parallel civil suit against Minolta which it did not expect to go to trial until 1992, but the case has been brought forward to September 1991, putting it on a similar time scale to any Trade Commission investigation.
