@Home’s Dutch subsidiary, @Home Nederland NV, will start rolling out national cable internet service to 126,000 households this month, and has partnered with local cable operator NV Nutsbedrijven Maastricht, to stretch its service 55,000 more subscribers in the cities of Maastricht and Eijsden in the fourth quarter.

The company is a joint venture between @Home Network Corp, Intel Corp and two Dutch cable operators, CasTel and Palet Kabelcom, which will take the roll-out to four Dutch cities. This is the first stage of @Home’s aim to pass 1.4 million homes in the Netherlands and Flemish-speaking Belgium, through its network of affiliated cable companies. @Home Nederland was @Home’s first non-US venture when it was formed in May last year. Last month the company announced it would attempt to break into the Japanese market in a joint venture with Jupiter Communications.
