Hitachi Ltd has launched the CET-A1 low power cordless telephone, which has a 50 yard communciations range and comes with a separate battery charger for maintaining memory in case of power failure; other features include automatic redial, musical hold (gulp), and alarm: the new telephone is a pricey $650.
