Even faster than the new Siemens drive (CI No 795), but not so capacious, is a new 600Mb 5.25 drive from Hitachi, the DK711S60, which rotates at 876rpm, with average rotational delay of 6.15mS and average seek time of 12mS for average access time of 18.15mS: it uses 13 platters with high-coercivity recording surface coating, giving 1.3 greater track density and 1.4 times the recording density.
