HITACHI ENHANCES THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE HITFILE 650

Hitachi Ltd has enhanced the functionality of its HitFile 650 optical disk subsystem: the office filing system now supports input of documents up to A1 size, and has the retrieval speed has been increased tenfold, enabling the creation of a database of newspapers and design documents: it also uses the Ofisword 2 word processing software and starts shipping in April at an anticipated price of $137,405.
