Under their collaboration agreement, Hitachi Ltd and Rockwell International Corp’s Allen-Bradley Co will see the Japanese company buying peripherals that can be connected to the Hitachi HIDIC H series of programmable controllers from Allen-Bradley, and marketing them in Japan from next month: peripherals involved are a motion controller to control a servo-motor that drives robots, a bar-code reader and a remote input-output device that performs bulb switching; joint research will also be conducted in the field with the aim of reducing product time to market and providing international standard interfaces.
