Hitachi Consulting, a provider of IT strategies and offerings, has acquired offshore enterprise applications and outsourced product development firm Sierra Atlantic.
The company said that the acquisition of Sierra Atlantic is expected to enhance its capabilities in Oracle business and to add offshore Global Development Centres in Hyderabad, India; and Guangzhou, China.
Sierra Atlantic is an offshore IT outsourcing with approximately 2,400 employees worldwide and has operations in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Sierra Atlantic specialises in providing a full portfolio of enterprise application implementation and management services to customers using Oracle, PeopleSoft, Siebel, Microsoft and Agile.
Hitachi Consulting president and CEO Phil Parr said they are committed to aggressively expanding their global business through organic growth as well as large-scale and market-specific acquisitions.
"This very strategic acquisition will increase the depth and breadth of our offerings portfolio to further position Hitachi Consulting as a top-tier IT professional services company," Parr said.
