Lynwood Scientific Developments Ltd of Alton, Hampshire, was much in evidence late last month, with the news that it is to supply the Terminal Control Units for the Metropolitan Police Crime Report Information System (CI No 752 and above) following hard on the heels of the announcement that it had won the workstation contract for the UKAir system being built by ICL (CI No 751). Despite its good fortune, Lynwood emphatically denies that it has any plans to go public. It reckons the recent con-tracts are all part of a planned expansion and the current J Series of terminals were always intended for high volume production. Last week’s activity saw those plans coming to fruition. Although Lynwood declined to comment on the precise nature of future contracts, it says another announcement can be expected within the next couple of months.
