A new public policy lobby group, known as the Technology Network, was formed last week, co-chaired by Netscape Communications Corp’s Jim Barksdale and Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers’ John Doerr, and will initially focus on education technology reforms. Chief executives from Sun Microsystems Inc, Hewlett-Packard Co and 12 other Silicon Valley companies involved in the group recently attended a private meeting with President Bill Clinton.
