The Saygus V SQUARED (V2) has reached its one million dollar funding target on Indiegogo.
The smartphone exceeded its funding target within seven days of launching, although a number of anonymous contributions led some to speculate that existing pre-orders had been counted in the campaign.
Priced at $599, Saygus claims its device, which was previewed at CES 2015, is "a massive disruptor in the smartphone industry" and "the world’s first no-compromise smartphone."
Highlights include its 2.5 Ghz Quad Core Snapdragon Processor carrying 64 GB of on-board flash storage, as well as dual Micro SD card slots allowing another 400 GB of expandable storage. It boasts a 21 MP main camera and 13 MP ‘selfie’ camera.
It also offers wireless streaming to any HDTV and is capable of shooting 4K video.
"We hope that you will join us on Indiegogo and make this dream a reality," the founders commented in a Youtube video.
"When comparing other smartphone’s features and tech head to head with the Saygus V SQUARED, the contrast is stunning," the Indiegogo page adds. "With Saygus, you and your device will be at the forefront of mobile technology wherever you are. "
While there has been extensive hype around the release of the device, it missed its 22 May release date due to issues with production. It is now expected to ship in Autumn.
