Hewlett-Packard Co yesterday introduced a family of high-capacity – 129Mb, 194Mb and 389Mb – 5.25 OEM disk drives. The HP97530E models come with ESDI, enhanced small-device interface and the HP97530S models with small-computer systemsinterface, SCSI. Both can find and settle on requested data in 17mS and have a 40,000- hour mean-time-between-failures. The 389Mb models are 1,900 for ESDI, $2,050 for SCSI when you order 1,500 or more; the former are available in volume now, the latter will follow later this year. They join the rugged 3.5 HP97501B 28Mb drive and HP7937S 8 subsystem with 715Mb unformatted.
