HEWLETT-PACKARD TO INTRODUCE PRESENTATION MANAGER FOR THE UNIX ENVIRONMENT

By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard Co says it is committed to introducing Microsoft Corp’s Presentation Manager user interface for the Unix environment: the product, PMX, will enable use of Hewlett’s NewWave user environment on Unix via its support for X Window, and will provide a common look and feel and applications programming environment across MS-DOS, OS/2 and Unix machines: development was only possible after Microsoft agreed to make significant changes to Presentation Manager code.
