HEWLETT-PACKARD TAKES 35% OF STET NETWORK SUPPORT ARM

Underlining how serious it is about the network management and control business, Hewlett-Packard Co, via its Hewlett-Packard Italiana has agreed with Italian state holding company Stet SpA to take a 35% holding in Network Control Systems SpA for an undisclosed sum. Network Control specialises in telecommunications network maintenance, doing $1.1m net on turnover of $27m from 270 employees for 1987. Stet’s aim in the deal is to expand Network Control’s business internationally.
