HEWLETT-PACKARD SWITCHES PRINTER LANGUAGE STRATEGY

By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard Co has also announced changes in its printer-language strategy, adding support for Adobe Corp’s PostScript page description language; it already supports Imagen Corp’s Document Description Language, and will continue to enhance its own Printer Command Language, which is the native control language for all Hewlett-Packard printers. Imagen rather than Hewlett-Packard will now be making and marketing the board that implements Document Description Language for the HP Laser Jet printer, and when it is available, Hewlett will promote Imagen’s PC Publisher Kit for the LaserJet.
