HEWLETT-PACKARD STILL BULLISH OVER UNIX REVENUES

By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard Co says it’s sold over 1.4 million units running its HP/UX operating system since it was first introduced 15 years ago. HP says it has gained in market share of commercial Unix system server revenues every year since 1988. We generate more than $10bn in Unix system-related revenues annually, when you take into account sales of our servers, workstations, consulting, integration and support services, said Bill Russell, HP’s vice president and general manager of the Enterprise Systems Group.
