HEWLETT-PACKARD READIES IRIS OBJECT DATABASE

Meantime Hewlett-Packard Co, which makes much use of object-oriented technology in its Microsoft Windows-based NewWave environment, has been working on its own proprietary object-oriented database management system, code-name Iris, for six years, and says that the thing has now moved from prototype to product development, but declined to give any indication of release date for the new database.
