HEWLETT-PACKARD CANADA MOVES TO ACQUIRE TESTER MAKER IDACOM

Hewlett-Packard Co’s Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd has agreement in principle to buy Idacom Electronics Ltd, an Edmonton, Alberta supplier of high-performance computer-based protocol testers used in data communication, on undisclosed terms. Its products extend a similar family of Hewlett-Packard products to offer a single source of hardware and software for protocol testing and analysis from entry-level portables to high-end test systems. Privately-held Idacom was founded in 1981 and employs 120.
